Summary

Researches and reviews statistics, film, and other information available on individual athletes and/or whole teams to provide insights to coaches. Supports development of team strategies and game plans. Assists with team operational duties as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Prepares, breaks down, and provides video analyses from practices, games and opponents' games for review by the head coach, coordinators, assistant coaches and student-athletes. Identifies practice and game trends.
  2. Researches and analyzes opposing teams' strategies, tendencies, and schemes. Analyzes and provides data and chart tendencies.
  3. Provides insights and perspectives for each opponent, including statistical breakdowns.
  4. Recommends game strategies, position details, and/or adjustments for practice sessions and competitive play. Proposes modifications to support team success based on research and observation of opposing teams.
  5. Participates in the creation of play and protection game plans and tip sheets. Updates team playbooks and card drawings.
  6. Performs or manages other operational team duties, tasks, and/or special projects as assigned by coaching staff.
  7. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Knowledge of applicable team or individual sports and playing rules.
  • Information research, analysis, and evaluation skills.
  • Ability to summarize data, draw conclusions and inferences, and prepare reports and/or presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Skill in the analysis and re-engineering of systems, processes, and procedures.

Conditions of Employment

  • Employees in this job title are subject to the terms and conditions of an employment contract. Employment contracts are typically subject to review and renewal on an annual basis.
  • Compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required in this position.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Light physical activity. Work may involve occasional assistance of others in the manipulation of heavy objects and some standing or walking, usually for not more than 2 hours a day.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Work is performed in different work environments including indoor and outdoor events and/or remote locations.
