The following statements are intended to describe, in broad terms, the general functions and responsibility levels characteristic of positions assigned to this classification. Directs and manages the strategic marketing and communications functions of the University of New Mexico, including branding, strategic planning, social media strategies, media/public relations and critical events strategies. Integrates the University's communications, media/public relations, and marketing programs and initiatives into a cohesive effort that conveys a consistent message in support of its mission, strategic goals, and objectives. Serves as the University's senior strategic advisor with respect to communications, media and public relations, and marketing initiatives. Serves as a member of the Presidents executive cabinet, and reports directly to the President.
