Summary

Manages and administers ticketing services for all events held at University athletic facilities and/or sponsored by the University. Collaborates with individuals across the UNM Athletics Department to identify opportunities to increase ticket sales and meet identified targets. Negotiates agreements with internal and external customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provides leadership and direction to all facets of ticketing operations at UNM athletic venues, ensuring compliance with university, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies.
  2. Establishes and implements short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement.
  3. Supervises personnel, which typically includes recommendations for hiring, firing, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution.
  4. Interacts and works with other University departments and external agencies to determine ticketing needs and to develop and maintain maximum operational effectiveness and responsiveness to needs.
  5. Represents the University to various institutional divisions as well as externally to governmental agencies, vendors, students and their parents, and/or the general public.
  6. Participates in the negotiation and establishment of service contracts with external vendors and agencies, as appropriate.
  7. Oversees the design and implementation of all documents and forms related to ticketing, to include ticket stock, invoices, and other special forms.
  8. Develops and manages annual budgets for the organization and performs periodic cost and productivity analyses.
  9. Maintains current information as to trends and developments in business; presents recommendations for marketing of programs.
  10. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; at least 5 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart information to a range of clientele and/or media sources.
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies, processes, and available resources.
  • Ability to identify and secure alternative funding/revenue sources.

  • Knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines for the administration of a ticketing operation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of computerized ticketing systems.
  • Ability to develop and implement creative revenue-generation plans, programs, and initiatives.
  • Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions.
  • Knowledge of current business issues and trends.
