Summary

Participates in developing the overall marketing strategy for Tamarind programs. Plans, implements, and maintains various marketing and promotional programs and initiatives designed to increase the visibility of and engagement with the University's Tamarind Institute. Develops and produces the Institute's marketing and promotional materials and web content, and coordinates and participates in marketing and community relations activities for the Institute.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develops, and implements an integrated range of marketing concepts and methodologies; plans and develops marketing and sales strategies consistent with the overall goals and objectives of the business.
  2. Provides administrative and technical management of Tamarind programmatic and retail websites, including overall functionality, maintenance, and user analytics, consistent with Institutional guidelines.
  3. Writes, edits, and manages all social media related content.
  4. Writes and edits promotional materials including press releases, newsletters, programs, and brochures; disseminates to appropriate media outlet(s).
  5. Designs, edits, and oversees production of promotional and informational materials, to include the Institute's web content and other printed materials such as ads, brochures, flyers; negotiates directly with vendors regarding media cost, placement, and production scheduling.
  6. Represents and promotes interests of the Institute at business and community meetings and events, either on-site or at regional, national, and/or international venues, as appropriate.
  7. Monitors and evaluates program effectiveness; produces periodic evaluation reports and prepares proposals for program enhancements and new initiatives.
  8. Develops and maintains associated database records and files, to include mailing lists, price lists, and distribution information.
  9. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Demonstrated ability to integrate marketing principles, strategies, and techniques into web design and development.

  • Ability to identify and interpret graphic design needs and develop creative and responsive design concepts.
  • Effective public speaking and media presentation skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Knowledge of printing procedures and requirements.

Conditions of Employment

  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • No or very limited physical effort required.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
