Summary

Within the Division of Human Resources, manages and oversees the development and implementation of employee engagement and organizational development programs aimed at improving employee engagement and improving organizational learning and development campus-wide. Ensures employee engagement and organizational development programs are aligned with the mission, goals, and objectives of the University. Manages a team of professional, technical, and administrative support staff engaged in the development and implementation of training programs and enterprise-wide organizational change programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Oversees strategic organizational development functions to include multiple scale services and programs both individual and university wide.
  2. Oversees the initiation and completion of large-scale instructional systems, and employee engagement and development projects.
  3. Provides direction and consultation to the university community regarding training and educational opportunities provided by the EOD program.
  4. Manages and coordinates all day-to-day activities of the EOD Department, to include staffing and hiring, training and development, work allocation and prioritization, performance evaluation, and performance management of departmental staff.
  5. Identifies, evaluates, and implements process improvement opportunities within area of oversight; identifies opportunities for streamlining existing processes to ensure efficiency.
  6. Monitors and evaluates program efficiency by collecting and analyzing statistical data; develops reporting procedures and other methods to establish program accountability and measure success; revises processes and procedures to reflect contemporary approaches to human resource management and to improve program effectiveness.
  7. Develops and promotes institutional philosophies, strategies, and methodologies with respect to areas of oversight, ensuring consistency with the University's overall mission, goals, and strategic plans.
  8. Oversees the initiation and completion of large-scale instructional systems, for employee engagement, and operational change management and development projects.
  9. Oversees the design and development of associated educational and training programs; provides oversight on the maintenance of departmental reports and records.
  10. Serves as subject matter expert to the University in employee engagement, management, leadership, strategic planning, change management, and organizational development.
  11. Oversees and conducts needs assessments to identify and evaluate individual and/or group training requirements for employees University-wide.
  12. Plans, designs, develops, and delivers individual and/or group training and instructional programs, using instructor-led, electronic/web-based, and/or multimedia training methods and formats.
  13. Maintains departmental reports and records.
  14. Represents the organization at various community and/or business meetings, committees, and task forces; promotes existing and new programs and/or policies.
  15. May participate in the development and implementation of operating budgets, systems, and procedures for the operating unit.
  16. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree' at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Conditions of Employment

  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Work is normally performed in an interior/office or workshop environment.
  • No or very limited physical effort required.
