Manages and oversees the development and implementation of organizational change programs aimed at improving individual and organizational performance university-wide. Oversees the initiation and completion of large-scale instructional, systems, and operational change management and development projects, and manages the design and development of associated educational and training programs. Manages and supervises the work of a diverse team of professional, technical, and administrative support staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Oversees strategic organizational development functions to include multiple scale services and programs both individual and university wide.
  2. Oversees the initiation and completion of large-scale instructional, systems, and operational change management and development projects.
  3. Oversees the design and development of associated educational and training programs.
  4. Serves as subject matter expert to the university in management, leadership, and organizational development.
  5. Conducts needs assessments to identify and evaluate individual and/or group training requirements for employees university-wide.
  6. Plans, designs, develops, and delivers individual and/or group training and instructional programs, using instructor-led, electronic/web-based, and/or multimedia training methods and formats.
  7. Manages and coordinates all day-to-day activities of the EOD Department, to include staffing and hiring, training and development, work allocation and prioritization, performance evaluation, and performance management of departmental staff.
  8. Participates in overall organizational decision making as a member of the divisional senior management team.
  9. Maintains departmental reports and records; collects statistical data for administrative and/or quality improvement purposes.
  10. May participate in the development and implementation of operating budgets, systems, and procedures for the operating unit.
  11. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Ability to design, develop, implement, and evaluate training plans, curricula, and methodology.
  • Knowledge of organizational development theory and practices.
  • Knowledge of web-based training programs and familiarity with web tools.
  • Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals.
  • Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports.
  • Program planning, development, implementation, and leadership skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership to professional personnel in area of expertise.
  • Knowledge of computerized information systems used in human resources applications.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Work is normally performed in an interior/office or workshop environment.
  • No or very limited physical effort required.
