Summary

Performs daily administrative activities for the Office of Student Financial Aid, including development and production of reports, ensuring compliance with university and funding agency requirements; and advisement of student financial aid applicants/recipients.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Supervises personnel which typically includes recommendations for hiring, firing, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution.
  2. Uses established fact-finding procedures, and knowledge of pertinent work processes and procedures to provide required analysis of business problems.
  3. Develops recordkeeping procedures and fund-level management procedures in accordance with applicable regulations, policies and standards.
  4. Responds to inquiries and investigates and resolves problems related to transactions handled by the department; serves as a liaison with other departments or units in the resolution of day-to-day administrative and operational issues.
  5. Conducts workshops and training seminars to inform students and university clients about student financial aid; advises students/families regarding application process and eligibility for student financial aid.
  6. Develops operating goals and objectives for the unit; implements and administers methods and procedures to enhance operations, as appropriate to the unit.
  7. Assists in establishing and implementing short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  8. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Conditions of Employment

  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • No or very limited physical effort required.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
