Summary

Leads and directs the operations of the University's Institute for Design and Innovation, in support of institutional data-driven decision-making. Leads a team of professional and technical staff engaged in advanced analytical, technical and/or data reporting activities. Collaborates with stakeholders across the institution on a range of technical and analytical projects, initiatives, reports, and/or operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Works across all aspects of the institution to develop and address short- and long-term analytic and data reporting priorities; creates and manages processes and platforms for data analytics that align with these priorities, and communicates these processes effectively to various requestors and stakeholders.
  2. Provides relevant, timely, and accurate institutional information to University administrators, the University community at large, and/or external agencies; provides institution-wide support for obtaining data and information and performing analyses in response to specific needs; develops and maintains key partnerships with internal and external entities.
  3. Works cooperatively with various University constituencies to optimize the quality, availability, and flow of relevant data and information throughout the university.
  4. Leads and/or coordinates cross-collaborative projects to identify and address emerging internal and external issues, to include development, implementation and administration of advanced analytical platforms, dashboards, reports and/or resources to enable the University to respond to changes and needs dynamically.
  5. Provides subject-matter expertise to University constituents regarding advanced technical, statistical and analytical approaches to issues; leads and provides direction to a team of technical and professional personnel, as well as student employees and/or interns where applicable, engaged in various areas of advanced data analytics.
  6. Ensures security and confidentiality of data and establishes internal infrastructure to ensure effective management of critical, institutional data across various platforms, servers, and/or the cloud.
  7. Establishes and implements short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement.
  8. Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives; oversees recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of unit staff.
  9. Develops and manages annual budgets for the organization and performs periodic cost and productivity analyses.
  10. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Master's degree; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Employees in this job title are subject to the terms and conditions of an employment contract. Employment contracts are typically subject to review and renewal on an annual basis.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
