Summary

Under the direction of the Executive Vice President (EVP) for Finance and Administration, provides critical leadership and coordination in the implementation of strategic business initiatives across the institution, including the University's response to emergency situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Collaborates with senior leadership and department heads to review, design, and implement improvements to organizational structures and process optimization. Evaluates gaps in knowledge and skills and assists with efforts to address them. Supports University leadership in implementing effective plans, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and public health guidance in times of critical need or crisis.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Directly supports the EVP for Finance and Administration with critical institutional business initiatives, including development and implementation of internal and external communications, direct operational support, and interaction with all levels of campus leadership.
  2. Oversees large, interdepartmental and cross-functional projects and initiatives critical to the University's success and in response to emerging trends and issues, such as the University's response to SARS-CoV-2, also known as COVID-19.
  3. Assesses barriers to team and/or organizational success, such as gaps in knowledge, skill, and/or resources; coordinates efforts to maximize organizational and institutional effectiveness.
  4. Assists University leadership in evaluating and updating emergency response plans and institutional policies, as needed; ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and requirements, including public health mandates related to COVID-19.
  5. Assumes day-to-day management of project tasks, to include team leadership, preparation for critical decision-making meetings, and coordination of high-profile projects in support of the EVP for Finance and Administration.
  6. Develops and maintains relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to foster buy-in and support for key institutional efforts and to drive effective decision-making; fosters long-term partnerships critical to organizational and institutional success.
  7. Researches, benchmarks, and analyzes data; develops internal metrics to analyze progress on key performance indicators and makes recommendations for opportunities to enhance data collection and internal performance analysis.
  8. Identifies and recommends opportunities to enhance organizational efficiencies and streamline processes.
  9. Liaises with multiple constituents at all levels of the organization, to include staff, department heads, senior leaders and executives; assesses and makes recommendations regarding campus climate, employee well-being, project proposals, organizational planning efforts and other related matters.
  10. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Master's degree; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Conditions of Employment

  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
  • Employees in this job title are subject to the terms and conditions of an employment contract. Employment contracts are typically subject to review and renewal on an annual basis.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort
