Summary

This is a single incumbent position that provides executive-level support in global business strategy and revenue stream development for Project ECHO. Develops, leads, and formulates global business strategy and helps steer business direction with a strong focus on growth, business innovation, and investment opportunities. Serves as a proactive and trusted advisor to executive leadership and external high-level leaders, while identifying, evaluating, and supporting Project ECHO's and UNM Health Systems and Health Sciences strategic plans and revenue growth opportunities. Ensures alignment of goals and execution while driving strategic initiatives and partnerships forward.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Partners with executive leadership on global business strategy development for Project ECHO while ensuring alignment with strategic initiatives and the university's strategic direction.
  2. Develops and executes plans for growth opportunities to secure major gifts.
  3. Seeks, initiates, and develops relationships with global leaders worldwide to increase global project funding.
  4. Liaises with global foundations and global funding organizations; attends and/or presents at relevant events or conferences to cultivate donors and prospects.
  5. Leads, directs, and coordinates special projects and initiatives on behalf of executive leadership, frequently involving other executive officers and outside agencies.
  6. Manages the working relationships between project leadership, university administration, and principal business and external stakeholders.
  7. Represents and acts on behalf of executive leadership in addressing internal and external inquiries as it pertains to the university's strategic initiatives.
  8. Participates with executive leadership in institutional planning, policy development, and problem resolution.
  9. Composes complex confidential reports for executive leadership and key stakeholders; ensures that data systems are used and maintained in line with UNM best practices.
  10. Designs, establishes, and maintains and organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the goals and objectives of the organization; recruits, trains, and oversees technical and functional staff as appropriate.
  11. Ensures and maintains high standards of equity and inclusion in all activities and relationships, both internally and externally.
  12. Builds a multicultural organization where employees can harness their unique skills and work together effectively to achieve diverse high-performance outcomes.
  13. Collaborates with and advises executive leadership in developing strategies to increase project funding.
  14. Researches and monitors industry trends and best practices to ensure the organization's fundraising efforts are innovative and effective.
  15. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; at least 9 years of experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed in the job description. A directly related higher degree from an accredited institution may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.

  • Employees in this job title are subject to the terms and conditions of an employment contract. Employment contracts are typically subject to review and renewal on an annual basis.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort
