Summary

Assigns and monitors the work of data entry operators. Coordinates daily scheduling priorities. Maintains complete documentation of job progress and ensures quality of work completed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assigns and supervises the work of data prep operators and monitors daily production levels.
  2. Logs receipt and completion, schedules, disperses, submits, and quality checks all data prep jobs.
  3. Coordinates daily input and output priorities for schedule.
  4. Creates new and changes existing on-line Data Entry (ODE) forms to serve users; ensures test and production systems are functional.
  5. Provides and maintains adequate security access on ODE system.
  6. Maintains delivery manifests and microfiche records.
  7. Prepares, scans, submits, and quality checks test scoring.
  8. May serve as back-up to supervisor.
  9. Ensures strict confidentiality of client records.
  10. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Ability to monitor and/or maintain quality control standards.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and schedules.
  • Knowledge of the principles, procedures and standards for the preparation and entry of computer data.
  • Records maintenance skills.
  • Ability to plan work schedules and assign duties; ability to provide or arrange for training.
  • Knowledge of quality control programming methods and procedures for on-line data entry.
  • Knowledge of computer data security access procedures.
  • Ability to document and maintain new and/or modified computer programs.
  • Ability to verify data input and correct errors.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
  • Ability to lead and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.

Distinguishing Characteristics

    Position requires: a) Reponsibility for work allocation, prioritization and scheduling for data entry clerks; b) Responsibility for quality control of data entry; c) Creating new and changing on-line data entry forms, ensuring that systems are functional; d) Maintaining security access levels for clerks; and e) Ensuring strict confidentiality of all data/information gained through completion of tasks.

Conditions of Employment

  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • No or very limited physical effort required.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

The University of New Mexico provides all training required by OSHA to ensure employee safety.
