Summary

Coordinates the scheduling of the core faculty activities of an integrated academic or clinical teaching enterprise of the University. Schedules and coordinates venues and facilities, and serves as liaison for scheduling of lectures, attendings, and/or related events as appropriate to the specific component being served. Maintains associated records systems and files.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Prepares and/or assists in the development and preparation of faculty didactic and/or experiential learning schedules, as appropriate to the position; updates schedules to reflect cancellations, rescheduling, addition, or modifications.
  2. Schedules, coordinates, and confirms classroom, clinical, and/or other experiental learning facilities usage, as appropriate to to support specified faculty activities.
  3. Assists component operating units with preparation of individual teaching and/or faculty attending schedules; updates schedules to reflect cancellations, reschedules, additions, and/or modifications.
  4. Coordinates maintenance and repair of teaching and associated facilities for the organization; serves as liaison between project management and component units, as appropriate.
  5. Schedules and coordinates visiting lecturers, lecture series, and/or other related special events, as appropriate to the position.
  6. Coordinates data entry and proofs schedules in automated scheduling and/or registration systems.
  7. Maintains facilities usage records and/or inventory, as appropriate to the individual position.
  8. May lead, guide, and train staff/student employees, interns, and/or volunteers performing related work; may participate in the recruitment of volunteers, as appropriate to the area of operation.
  9. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques.
  • Ability to plan, develop, implement, and modify faculty activities schedules using various formats.
  • Records maintenance skills.
  • Analytical, evaluative, and critical thinking skills.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Working knowledge of automated scheduling systems and processes, as appropriate to the position.
  • Word processing and/or data entry skills.
  • Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects and events.
  • Ability to schedule events and/or facilities usage.

Conditions of Employment

  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • No or very limited physical effort required.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
