Summary

Manages and administers the day-to-day administrative, business, parking and/or transportation operations and activities of the University's Parking and Transportation Services. Assists in the development and implementation of strategic transportation and parking plans. Oversees the University parking system and patrol operations. Directs and coordinates the investigation and resolution of parking and transportation related issues.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives; oversees recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of unit staff.
  2. Develops, implements, and maintains policies, objectives, short-and long-range plans for the function, in conjunction with the Director; develops and implements projects and programs to assist in accomplishment of established goals.
  3. Manages the dissemination of internal and public information regarding regulations, operating policies and procedures, and issues related to parking and transportation services.
  4. Designs, and oversees development and implementation of public services-related programs and initiatives, promotional programs, and related materials.
  5. Guides and directly participates in parking facilities and equipment planning and construction activities for the unit; oversees the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs for parking facilities and equipment.
  6. Develops and implements systems and processes to establish and maintain records for the operating unit.
  7. Represents the organization to local, state, and national governmental agencies, funding agencies, and relevant community constituencies; represents University management at various community and/or business meetings, as appropriate.
  8. Evaluates existing communications programs and determines current and emerging communication needs; develops, and implements a wide range of integrated communications strategies and programs on behalf of the organization.
  9. Participates in the development of annual operating budgets and provides fiscal direction for the unit.
  10. Oversees the planning and implementation of contracted supplemental security services.
  11. Provides guidance and leadership to the organization's strategic planning process.
  12. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort
