The following statements are intended to describe, in broad terms, the general functions and responsibility levels characteristic of positions assigned to this classification. They should not be viewed as an exhaustive list of the specific duties and prerequisites applicable to individual positions that have been so classified.
Under indirect supervision, provides wide range of trauma consultation, including crisis intervention, clinical evaluation, and assessment to individuals and families in acute stages of grief. Develops, facilitates, and mentors groups related to traumatic death, as appropriate. Designs and delivers education programs in grief theory and intervention associated with traumatic death to students and/or to community constituencies. Plans and oversees program initiatives and participates in program development and administration, and/or in research activities, as appropriate. May work in one or more of a variety of settings, such as community outreach, home setting, or hospital environment.
