Summary
Directs the administration, planning, programming, scheduling, marketing, ticketing services, technical support, and facilities for the University's public entertainment events at Popejoy Hall. Oversees the general management of Popejoy Hall, including approvals for the annual schedule of presented performances and the rental of the facility by various University-sponsored activities and local community performing arts groups.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversees all facets of the daily operations of Popejoy Hall, ensuring compliance with the University, state, and federal laws, policies, and regulations.
Provides leadership and direction in the planning, development, and implementation of presented performances in Popejoy Hall; researches touring shows, approves and negotiates contracts with performing arts vendors and presenting partners, and approves season calendar and facility rentals to ensure diverse program offerings.
Represents Popejoy Hall in the local community and develops and maintains relationships with external performing arts vendors and presenting partners to strengthen Popejoy's booking and ticket sales potential; cultivate, strengthen and grow the portfolio of Popejoy supporters, including state and national government relations, as well as, media and national industrial relations.
Establishes and implements short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement.
Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives; oversees recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of unit staff.
Oversees the development of annual operating budgets and performs cost and productivity analysis.
Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with the UNM Foundation, development officers, and Popejoy Hall board members to develop, implement, and execute strategic fundraising initiatives.
Develops revenue models that secure the long-term stability of Popejoy Hall through effective earned and contributed revenue strategies including board development, endowment and capital initiatives, and dynamic ticket pricing.
Oversees effective strategic capital improvement and maintenance of Popejoy Hall that promotes both artist and audience safety, comfort, and satisfaction.
Represents Popejoy Hall and the University to various institutional divisions as well as externally to governmental agencies, vendors, students and their parents, and/or the general public.
Recommends and participates in the development of University policies and procedures; may serve on University planning and policy-making committees.
Assists and coordinates with University departments and various performing arts organizations in the planning and delivery of their events held in Popejoy Hall and venues housed in UNM Center for the Arts.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Conditions of Employment
Employees in this job title are subject to the terms and conditions of an employment contract. Employment contracts are typically subject to review and renewal on an annual basis.
May be required to submit to annual TB and rubella screening.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
