The following statements are intended to describe, in broad terms, the general functions and responsibility levels characteristic of positions assigned to this classification. They should not be viewed as an exhaustive list of the specific duties and prerequisites applicable to individual positions that have been so classified.
Plans and directs the administration of all research (community/population, laboratory, translational, clinical) and programmatic activities and initiatives (internal and external) undertaken by the UNMCCC. Ensures compliance with all federal National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Cancer Institute (NCI) research administration guidelines and standards, as well as guidelines associated with other large programmatic research projects. In addition, ensures compliance with all funding agency guidelines, procedural standards, and reporting requirements. Manages all fiscal, human resources, and general administrative activities within the research areas of the UNMCCC. Provides advanced professional/technical leadership, consultation, and expertise within the Research Administration area of focus, as well as day-to-day administrative and functional management of the program's activities and staff. Serves as a member of the UNMCCC Senior Leadership team and develops strategic plans and sets strategic direction for the UNMCCC overall.
