Summary
Provides specialized, skilled assistance at scheduled intercollegiate athletic games. Areas of specialty may include game timing, shot clock operation, game statistics and recordkeeping, PA announcing, chain crew duties, and/or other directly related official functions. Typically works on an on-call basis as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs assigned tasks in accordance with NCAA Division 1 and conference rules, regulations, guidelines, and standards.
Ensures proper care in the use of equipment and supplies; promotes workplace safety.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Demonstrated skill in game officiating within designated area of specialty.
Knowledge of applicable NCAA and conference rules and regulations.
Ability to perform accurately and efficiently within area of specialty.
Ability to work evenings and/or weekends on an occasional basis.
Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Moderate physical activity. May require physical effort including lifting up to 25 pounds and some extended periods of standing or walking.
Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
Work may involve some exposure to operating circumstances that require following standard or prescribed safety precautions.
