Summary

Provides leadership and administration of financial, business, and facilities operations related to Academic Affairs, including the academic schools/colleges and academic support divisions, to support the advancement of academic excellence and achievement of strategic plans. Reports to the Provost/Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and is actively involved as a key member of the Provost's Leadership Team to advance strategic and systematic academic resource planning and allocation of financial and physical resources for the academic enterprise. Collaborates with the academic school/college deans, the college financial leads, and other university partners to support them in the oversight of administrative and financial matters related to Academic Affairs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Advises and assists the executive leadership on the development and implementation of policies, procedures, protocols, analysis, and methods of improving administrative business operations, financial operations, and facilities operations related to Academic Affairs.
  2. Provides support to the Provost/Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and the campus with regard to resource planning and allocation of financial and physical resources for the academic enterprise.
  3. Actively involved as a key member of the Provost's Leadership Team.
  4. Develops and implements efficient business operations in support of the institutional mission, focused on financial structures, including the implementation of business service centers.
  5. Develops and maintains complex financial models for financial forecasting of different resources such as differential tuition and fees, use of funds, etc. to integrate into the budget planning, budget development, and long-range financial planning.
  6. Partners with executive leadership and unit colleagues for budget coordination, resource planning, financial planning, and facilities planning related to the colleges and academic support units.
  7. Creates tools and training to assist Academic Affairs, academic schools/colleges, and academic support units with budget forecasting, financial analysis, and planning.
  8. Ensures the effective stewardship of institutional resources by developing accurate financial projections and monitoring financial results and financial outcomes on critical projects and strategic initiatives throughout the fiscal year.
  9. Ensures Academic Affairs area is accountable for compliance with Regents' Policies, University Administrative Policies, and business procedures.
  10. Leads the convening of college financial leads and academic financial support leadership and works with them on common goals, standards, and operating practices.
  11. Services as a resource and liaison to Academic Affairs staff, deans, associate deans, department chairs, and dean's office staff providing consultation and advice on resource planning and management, including administrative, business, financial, and facilities operations.
  12. Builds effective partnerships throughout the university related to administrative, financial, facilities, and other resources needed for the academic affairs mission.
  13. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; at least 10 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort
