Summary
Under limited supervision, provides leadership and operational oversight for assigned instructional development and/or academic support programs. Supports the Center for Teaching & Learning (CTL) in planning, coordinating, and implementation of established unit priorities; supervises professional and managerial staff; and ensures the effective delivery of teaching and learning services aligned with institutional goals. Represents CTL in collaborative initiatives, contributes to assessment and continuous improvement efforts, and supports research-informed practices that advance teaching and learning across the university.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manages and oversees the operations, activities, and services for assigned instructional development and/or academic support functional areas within CTL. Monitors and ensures compliance with established policies and procedures.
Participates in the planning, development, and implementation of unit-level goals, priorities, and procedures. Contributes to operational planning and ensures alignment with institutional objectives and established policies.
Provides leadership and operational oversight for assigned programs and functional areas. Ensures services and initiatives are delivered effectively, consistently, and in accordance with established standards and priorities.
Supervises student employees, which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for student personnel actions; motivates students to achieve peak productivity and performance.
Oversees and manages assigned operating budgets and resources. Monitors expenditures, ensures appropriate use of funds, and provides fiscal guidance to direct reports in support of unit priorities.
Provides advanced professional consultation and leadership related to program development, instructional or academic support services, and service improvement initiatives. Supports the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs addressing identified institutional needs.
Uses assessment data, operational metrics, and stakeholder feedback to evaluate program effectiveness and inform continuous improvement efforts. Reviews reports and analysis to support planning and decision-making.
Contributes to and/or initiates education research and scholarship of teaching and learning activities, as appropriate, to inform practice and advance instructional development efforts within and beyond the CTL.
Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to advance unit initiatives. Represents the unit on committees, working groups, and collaborative efforts as assigned.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
Master's degree; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Advanced knowledge of instructional design principles, teaching and learning theories, and evidence-based pedagogical practices.
Knowledge of principles of supervision, training, performance management, and employee development.

Knowledge of emerging trends, best practices, and developments relevant to assigned functional areas, and ability to apply this knowledge to guide unit operations and staff practices.
Ability to organize, prioritize, assign, and monitor work; develop tracking systems; and manage multiple concurrent initiatives.
Conditions of Employment
Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
