Summary
Within the Division of Student Affairs, provides strategic direction, consultation and support to the University community in addressing in an integrated way the educational needs, prospects and related concerns of a targeted student population and/or specific student need. Serves as a resource to institutional departments and leaders, as well as external constituencies, agencies, community members, and/or government entities as it relates to the interests of the student population. Leads a team of professional, technical and support staff in the delivery of programs and services that enrich the experience for students at the institution. Seeks resources and/or revenues to support program objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Leads, directs, and oversees all facets of the daily operations for a student service program designed to support the University's goals to recruit, retain and support students, as well as ensure compliance with federal and/or state regulations and guidelines, as applicable to the program.
Establishes and implements short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement.
Directs program activities, manages departmental budgets, and negotiates agreements with internal and external entities regarding program services, initiatives and offerings.
Plans and directs the implementation of strategies for generating resources and/or revenues for the various programs; negotiates and administers contracts and/or grants with Federal and State agencies.
Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, promotion, enforcement of internal procedures and controls, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
Represents the university to various institutional divisions as well as externally to the media, governmental agencies, prospective funding agencies and individuals, prospective vendors, and/or a range of constituencies within the community at large.
Advises student organizations, facilitates student mentorship and leadership development, and serves as a subject-matter expert regarding issues, concerns, and priorities impacting the population of interest.
Develops and manages annual budgets for the organization and performs periodic cost and productivity analyses.
Serves as a Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Conditions of Employment
Employees in this job title are subject to the terms and conditions of an employment contract. Employment contracts are typically subject to review and renewal on an annual basis.
Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
