Summary

Coordinates one or more defined operational areas within the enrollment services function of the UNM Branch. Provides integrated advice and guidance to prospective and current students and their families, faculty, staff, and lower level enrollment associates regarding admissions/transfers, student records, registration, financial aid and/or associated issues. Participates in the planning and implementation of related programs and initiatives, and resolves or provides support in the resolution of complex, sensitive student enrollment issues as they arise.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Coordinates all day-to-day activities of one or more complete functional areas of enrollment services, such as educational outreach to prospective students and families, recruitment and admissions, financial aid advisement, and/or other related areas of operation.
  2. Provides integrated consultation and guidance to prospective and entering students and their families regarding a wide range of enrollment services issues.
  3. Coordinates and facilitates the implementation and administration of internal and community-based programs designed to enhance student enrollment at the Branch.
  4. Works independently with faculty, staff, and community members in the resolution of complex and/or sensitive day-to-day issues associated with the relevant functional area of operation.
  5. Actively participates in the design and implementation of professional workshops, seminars, and other various programmatic intiatives.
  6. Researches, designs, develops, and delivers internal and external presentations associated with functional area of operation at local, state, regional, and/or national venues.
  7. Creates, processes, and maintains files, records, databases, forms, and related materials, as appropriate to the assigned functional area of operation.
  8. Develops, writes, edits, and coordinates production of multimedia informational and/or promotional communications and reference materials related to assigned functional area of operations.
  9. Provides input and assists in the formulation and implementation of general student enrollment services, operating policies, systems, and procedures for the Branch.
  10. May lead and/or functionally supervise lower level staff in the execution of defined program/project initiatives related to assigned functional area of operation.
  11. May perform one or more collateral assignments of similar or lower level of responsibility for other operating units of the Branch, in accordance with institutional need and individual experience and interest, up to 20% of nominal working hours.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of one or more areas of student enrollment management in a postsecondary institution.

  • Knowledge of policies and procedures pertaining to university student admissions, registration, and records.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • No or very limited physical effort required.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
