Summary

Under supervision, provides instructional design and teaching support services to faculty, instructors, and instructional staff. Consults on course design, development, and revisions; develops instructional resources and learning materials; facilitates training and workshops; and coordinates assigned instructional development projects. Collaborates with campus partners and applies evidence-based instructional practices to support effective teaching and learning across a variety of instructional modalities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provides consultation and assistance in the design, development, and revision of instructional materials and learning activities. Applies instructional design principles, learning theories, and evidence-based practices to the development of programs and resources.
  2. Collaborates with faculty and instructional staff to support effective course design, alignment of learning objectives and strategies, assessments, and use of instructional strategies appropriate to delivery modality.
  3. Designs, develops, and updates instructional resources, materials, and tools to support teaching and learning initiatives. Assists with the integration and effective use of instructional technologies and learning management systems.
  4. Develops and facilitates training sessions, workshops, and instructional support activities. Provides follow-up assistance and guidance to participants to support effective application of instructional practices.
  5. Coordinates assigned instructional development projects by tracking timelines, deliverables, and progress for assigned components of larger initiatives. Communicates status updates and ensures completion of assigned tasks in accordance with established priorities and guidelines.
  6. Collects, analyzes, and summarizes feedback, usage data, and evaluation results to support continuous improvement efforts. Assists with preparation of reports and documentation related to instructional activities and services.
  7. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, including academic departments and campus partners, to support instructional initiatives. Participates in cross-functional teams and contributes to coordinated service delivery.
  8. Maintains current knowledge of instructional design principles, learning theories, pedagogy, educational technologies, and trends in higher education. Applies emerging practices and tools to assigned responsibilities as appropriate.
  9. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Conditions of Employment

  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • No or very limited physical effort required.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
