Summary

Under limited supervision, within the Division of Enrollment Management, directs the operations of Enrollment Management Reporting and oversees reporting, analytics, student data integrity, and related systems administration in support of enrollment strategy and institutional decision-making across the University. Coordinates enrollment-related data, reporting, security, and access practices, including oversight of appropriate access to student-related systems and data environments, and collaborates with campus partners to support institutional enrollment goals and the effective, secure, and appropriate use of student data.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Directs the operations, projects, and services of Enrollment Management Reporting, ensuring delivery of enrollment-related reporting, analytics, and systems support in alignment with division and institution priorities.
  2. Oversees the development, maintenance, and distribution of recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and analytical tools related to admissions, registration, retention, graduation, and other enrollment management metrics for senior leadership, campus units, and branch campuses.
  3. Provides timely, accurate, and relevant enrollment and student data, analyses, and related research to senior administration, managers, faculty, staff, and other internal and external stakeholders, as appropriate, to support planning, policy development, decision-making, and progress toward institution enrollment goals.
  4. Establishes and maintains security administration and access protocols for student-related systems, reporting applications, and associated data environments, in coordination with data stewards, Central IT, and other institutional partners.
  5. Ensures the integrity, consistency, and appropriate use of student and enrollment data across reporting environments and related systems; facilitates resolution of data, access, and operational issues in a timely manner.
  6. Develops and implements service standards, processes, and communication practices for reporting and analytics support provided to the university community, including request intake, prioritization, customer communication, and opportunities for feedback and continuous improvement.
  7. Works collaboratively with senior leadership, colleges, administrative units, branch campuses, Central IT, the Office of Institutional Analytics, and other institutional and external partners to identify reporting priorities, address data needs, and support cross-functional initiatives related to enrollment management and student success.
  8. Establishes and implements short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and operational priorities for the unit; monitors effectiveness and implements improvements to enhance services, systems, and reporting capabilities.
  9. Oversees the development of new reporting methods, dashboards, and tracking processes designed to monitor and predict enrollment, retention, and graduation trends, and communicates findings and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders as appropriate.
  10. Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and staffing model to effectively accomplish unit goals; oversees recruitment, training, supervision, coaching, and evaluation of assigned staff.
  11. Develops and manages the annual operating budget for Enrollment Management Reporting and provides fiscal direction and resource planning for the unit.
  12. Leads and facilitates training and educational sessions related to student data, reporting tools, reporting practices, and related systems for staff and university users; maintains current knowledge of emerging technologies, reporting practices, and regulatory or institutional requirements relevant to the work.
  13. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Knowledge and understanding of the current and developing strategic information requirements of a major research university.
  • Knowledge of the goals, objectives, structure and operations of a major public university.
  • Strong interpersonal and written and oral communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to determine informational needs, collect and analyze data, devise and develop statistical analyses and reports, draw conclusions, and make recommendations based on research data and findings.
  • Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports.
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to provide strategic guidance and counsel to clientele in the assessment and development of existing and/or proposed systems.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management.
