Summary

Directs and coordinates the University's Executive and Professional Education Center (EPEC, Center), which develops and administers graduate and undergraduate credit programs, such as the Executive MBA Program, a series of non-credit management certification programs, and a range of contract training, development, and consulting projects for business and industry. Sets strategic direction, develops and implements work scope and related operational policies and procedures. Establishes funding, and provides operational planning, budgeting, and assessment. Serves as the primary liaison to the Anderson School of Management Foundation Board (ASMF, Foundation Board) on strategic planning, operational and budget matters.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Establishes and implements short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement.
  2. Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives; oversees recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of unit staff.
  3. Directs and oversees the planning, development, modification, and enhancement of course curriculum for credit and non-credit programs.
  4. Establishes a cohesive relationship with the Foundation Board, building and strengthening the awareness of the Center's partnership with them; collaborates with the Foundation Board on strategic planning and Center's role within strategies, funding, accounting structure, processes, required reporting, board meetings and workflows.
  5. Oversees all facets of the daily operations of the Center; provides guidance and partnership for the Foundation Board operations, ensuring compliance with the University, state, and federal laws, policies, and regulations.
  6. Develops and implements integrated strategies for the achievement of enrollment and revenue goals, to include the development of public presentations, proposals, promotional programs and materials, and strategic partnering with the Foundation Board.
  7. Plans, develops, and implements strategies for generating resources and/or revenues for the organization.
  8. Represents the Center and supports the Foundation Board to various institutional divisions as well as externally to the media, governmental agencies, prospective funding agencies and individuals, prospective vendors, and/or a range of constituencies within the community at large.
  9. Researches, identifies, and assesses the current and emerging management training and development needs of clients and the business community at large; evaluates existing programs and services, and initiates new programs, modifications, and enhancements as appropriate.
  10. Recommends and participates in the development of University policies and procedures; may serve on University planning and policy-making committees.
  11. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Master's degree; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Employees in this job title are subject to the terms and conditions of an employment contract. Employment contracts are typically subject to review and renewal on an annual basis.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
