Summary

Manages, leads, and provides senior-level leadership for highly complex, organization-wide process improvement initiatives of strategic significance while ensuring alignment with the enterprise's overall goals and objectives. Leads assessment, design, implementation, and evaluation of clinical, operational, administrative, and business process improvements. Serves as a strategic resource to leadership by analyzing complex operations, developing integrated solutions, and facilitating cross-functional organizational change. Applies advanced project management and process improvement methodologies to improve organizational effectiveness, productivity, quality, and service delivery. Exercises a high degree of independent judgment and manages complex assignments with minimal oversight.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Leads and manages highly complex, enterprise-wide, multifaceted process improvement projects and initiatives of broad organizational and strategic significance.
  2. Evaluates operational, clinical, administrative, and business processes to identify gaps, risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  3. Performs advanced analysis of operational, clinical, financial, and other data to evaluate performance, identify root causes, and develop strategic recommendations.
  4. Provides senior-level consultation to leadership and stakeholders on process improvement, organizational effectiveness, operational redesign, and implementation strategies.
  5. Facilitates complex, cross-functional teams and work sessions to drive decision-making, resolve issues, build consensus, and advance organizational change.
  6. Defines project scope, objectives, deliverables, performance measures, and implementation strategies; develops and manages comprehensive project plans, timelines, resources, and risks.
  7. Leads the evaluation, redesign, and implementation of processes, systems, programs, and operational practices to achieve sustainable improvements.
  8. Assesses project performance, outcomes, risks, and organizational impact; develops strategies and recommends changes to achieve desired results.
  9. Researches and applies industry standards, best practices, emerging trends, and advanced project management and process improvement methodologies.
  10. Develops and presents complex analyses, recommendations, reports, and executive-level presentations to leadership and key stakeholders.
  11. Develops and promotes standardized process improvement practices, tools, and training; provides technical guidance and mentorship to project teams and staff.
  12. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Conditions of Employment

  • Must be employment eligible as verified by the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) and the Government Services Administration (GSA).
  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
  • Fingerprinting, and subsequent clearance, is required for this position.
  • Must provide proof of varicella & MMR immunity or obtain vaccinations within 90 days of employment.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
  • If this position is assigned to a clinical area, successful candidate will be required to complete a pre-placement medical evaluation/health screen. Required N-95 mask fitting, testing, vaccinations to include annual TST, Tdap, and Hepatitis B will be determined based on location and nature of position.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Work is performed primarily in an office environment with periodic work in clinical or operational areas.
  • Moderate physical activity. May require physical effort including lifting up to 25 pounds and some extended periods of standing or walking.
  • Must be able to travel locally between facilities and within the surrounding community.

The University of New Mexico provides all training required by OSHA to ensure employee safety.
