Summary
Under the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer, provides leadership, direction, coordination, and integration of compliance activities and programs to ensure the university's compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations. This is a single incumbent position. Directs and oversees integrated implementation and evaluation of compliance initiatives best practices and ongoing activities across the University. Provides advice and counsel in areas of expertise and serves as the University's representative and liaison to the community in this area.
Duties and Responsibilities
Directs and oversees compliance activities and related programs to ensure the university's compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Oversees, monitors, and manages allegations of compliance and/or ethics violations; oversees the maintenance of compliance records, databases and tracking systems; collects and analyzes data and prepares ad-hoc reports for presentation to University stakeholders. Which include conclusions and necessary corrective actions; recommends strategies to mitigate future risks.
Provides guidance on matters related to compliance and/or ethics violations and responds to inquiries internally and externally.
Oversees, monitors and manages investigations of compliance and/or ethics violations and advises University constituents on opportunities for remediation/prevention; supervises staff in the identification, addressal and resolution of complaints.
Develops, coordinates, conducts, and audits education and training programs to heighten awareness of compliance programs for all members of university community, as appropriate.
Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, problem resolution, and promotion and enforcement of internal procedures and controls; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
In conjunction with the Chief Compliance Officer, serves on various university planning and policy making committees; recommends and participates in the development of university policies and procedures; leads committee efforts as they relate to establishing short- and long-range institutional compliance strategies, developing and implementing compliance initiatives, conducting risk assessments and investigations, and implementing policies and procedures.
Assists with oversight of the Office of Compliance, Ethics and Equal Opportunity including civil rights and related compliance functions including Title IX, Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VII, Limited English Proficiency programs, Affirmative Action planning, Minors on Campus, the Clery Act and other compliance programs and functions.
Interfaces with the Board of Regents, senior administration, faculty, staff and students in the development of various strategic compliance programs, policies, assessments and initiatives.
Monitors University compliance activities to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal civil rights regulations; generates, analyzes, and submits required statistical reports regarding compliance activities; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement.
Serves as a point of contact and represents the University to various institutional divisions and/or external constituencies.
Serves as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree; at least 10 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Conditions of Employment
Employees in this job title are subject to the terms and conditions of an employment contract. Employment contracts are typically subject to review and renewal on an annual basis.
Must obtain certification as a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) within 12 months of date of hire.
Must maintain certification status.
Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
