The following statements are intended to describe, in broad terms, the general functions and responsibility levels characteristic of positions assigned to this classification. They should not be viewed as an exhaustive list of the specific duties and prerequisites applicable to individual positions that have been so classified.
Oversees all administrative and/or operational matters for the Office of the Chancellor for Health Sciences and the HSC Board of Directors (BoD). Handles a wide range of issues on behalf of these offices and provides coordination and oversight in the development of agendas, schedules, special events and activities. Acts as the primary point of contact for both internal and external constituencies on all matters pertaining to the office, and assists and represents the office principal in communicating with constituents. Researches, prioritizes, and follows-up on multiple issues and concerns addressed to the office principal, including those of a sensitive and/or confidential nature. Manages a variety of special projects, some of which may have institutional impact. Serves as liaison between the Chancellor for HSC, the BoD, the Office of the President, and other senior officers of the University, Reports administratively to the Chancellor for Health Sciences and functionally to the Chair of the HSC Board of Directors.
