The following statements are intended to describe, in broad terms, the general functions and responsibility levels characteristic of positions assigned to this classification. Directs and administers programs, strategies, and initiatives designed to develop, enhance, and support the various clinical, research, and educational missions of an unusually large and organizationally diverse clinical department of the University's School of Medicine. Oversees all clinical practice management, internal and external business activities, accounting and finance, grant administration, human resources, facility and resource management, information services, and general department administration. Participates with the Chair and other senior faculty in integrated strategic and operational decision making as a full member of the department's leadership team.
The University of New Mexico provides all training required by OSHA to ensure employee safety.
