The following statements are intended to describe, in broad terms, the general functions and responsibility levels characteristic of positions assigned to this classification. Under limited supervision, develops, plans, oversees, and implements strategies and initiatives of the Health Extension Regional Office (HERO) for a specific geographic region and/or ethnic population of the state. Integrates various missions of the UNM Health Sciences Center (HSC) in urban, rural, and under-served communities and promotes opportunities to enhance the efficiency and delivery of clinical, educational, and research services to specified populations. Collaborates closely with key community partners to improve health and health equity in New Mexico. Serves as a key representative between the UNM HSC and specified communities, driving alignment between community priorities and University resources, programs, and services.
