Summary
Under minimal supervision, organizes and coordinates the administrative, business, and mission functions of the State NM EPSCoR office. Guides and assists in the formulation and preparation of strategic plans and programs for the NM EPSCoR, and manages all financial, administrative, and resource aspects of the program. Directs and administers the day-to-day operations of the NM EPSCoR and its programs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assists the Director as liaison between NM EPSCoR and its external constituencies, including federal and state legislative offices, the NSF, the NM EPSCoR State Committee, the Council of University Presidents, state and federal agencies, other EPSCoR programs, national laboratories, state and local private industry, and the State and Tribal Colleges and Universities participating in the program.
Assists the Director in the coordination and oversight of the EPSCoR program.
Develops or assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization to ensure efficient operation of the program/project.
Works with the state education leadership (public and private) to develop strong academic programs for EPSCoR support.
Coordinates and promotes the development of potential new research projects and services, in collaboration with partners, private sector firms, national laboratories, and/or government agencies.
Participates in, coordinates, and facilitates long-range strategic planning for the program.
Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives; oversees recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of unit staff.
Manages communications and public relations for the program.
Assists the Director in the development, preparation, and submission of the program's grant proposals.
Manages the review of proposals submitted to the program.
Plans, organizes, and implements workshops, conferences and meetings for the program.
Assists the Director in the development of program reports and assessments.
Represents the program at national, regional, and state meetings.
Assumes program responsibilities in the absence of the Director as assigned.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
