Summary
Oversees, facilitates, and coordinates the establishment and support of major programs of a multi-faceted research, academic, and/or community services operating entity. Participates in the development and evaluation of strategic and operating plans, and evaluates programs for conformance to the overall goals and objectives of the entity. May develop, implement, and oversee a range of operational support programs, as applicable to the overall objectives of the entity.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversees, advises, and assists in the coordination, development, and preparation of various institutional grants and/or other fundraising proposals in support of unit programs.
Provides leadership, coordinates, and administers the strategic planning process for programs and initiatives of the unit.
Coordinates the development and implementation of programs, special projects, research studies, and other unit initiatives.
Administers, oversees, and coordinates the activities of a range of specified operating and support programs, as appropriate to the objectives of the unit.
Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, promotion, enforcement of internal procedures and controls, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
Develops and manages annual capital and/or operating budgets; oversees, monitors, and coordinates program budgets, as appropriate.
Participates in the development, coordination, and implementation of changes and/or improvements in fiscal, human resources, and/or other management systems and procedures for the department.
Participates in development, implementation and maintenance of policies, objectives, short-and long-range planning; develops and implements projects and programs to assist in accomplishment of established goals.
Represents the organization at various community and/or business meetings, committees, and task forces; promotes existing and new programs and/or policies.
May serve as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
Successful completion of at least 60 college-level credit hours; at least 4 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort
