Summary

Develops interactive media and training materials for faculty and staff clients. Trains clients how to utilize software applications. Plans and tracks production projects. Coordinates programmers, animators, graphic designers, audio and video production personnel. Oversees client use of resource studio and configures, maintains, upgrades, and troubleshoots multimedia technologies. Tests new multimedia technologies and evaluates educational applications.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Conceptualizes, designs, plans and produces interactive media materials for faculty and staff clients; determines format, approach, content, level, and medium which most effectively meets client needs analysis and remains within budget.
  2. Coordinates programmers, animators, graphic designers, audio and video production personnel; evaluates and modifies media materials to conform to client needs analysis.
  3. Tests new multimedia technologies and evaluates educational applications; configures, maintains, upgrades and troubleshoots resource studio multimedia technologies.
  4. Trains clients how to utilize interactive, multimedia software applications and technologies.
  5. Consults with clients on selection, use, and design of multimedia materials and operation of presentation equipment; serves as a liaison between clients and software developers.
  6. Plans and tracks production projects.
  7. Schedules and oversees client use of resource studio.
  8. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Skills in the utilization of specified computerized graphic design programs.
  • Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques.
  • Project planning skills.
  • Ability to utilize advanced audio and/or video recording, mastering and editing techniques.
  • Ability to design and implement non-standard computer software education programs to meet specific needs.
  • Ability to develop training aids and instructional materials using a range of media.
  • Ability to implement and troubleshoot programming changes and modifications.
  • Ability to develop programming specifications within defined parameters.
  • Ability to provide or arrange for training.
  • Ability to assess and maintain quality of programming structure, design, and coding.
  • Knowledge of computer animation programs, processes and production equipment.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and training to end users.
  • Ability to plan, implement and direct photography, graphics, audio/visual and associated operations.
  • Organizing and coordinating skills.
  • Skill in designing and/or importing web pages.
  • Knowledge of professional audio and/or video tape editing and post-production procedures, techniques, and standards.
  • Ability to plan, implement, test, and troubleshoot system software.
  • Knowledge of established programming procedures and programming languages.
  • Ability to design, test, and implement non-standard computer software to meet specific needs.
  • Ability to provide a range of systems training and/or support activities for users.
  • Ability to plan and implement production and operational schedules.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • No or very limited physical effort required.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
