Summary

Assists in the management and maintenance of athletic and sports equipment for an intercollegiate athletic sports program. Assists in the coordination and maintenance of intercollegiate sports facilities, as specified by the program.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assists with the disposition of all uniforms, practice gear, and equipment inventory for the program; may assist higher level staff with the procurement of equipment inventory.
  2. Assists with the maintenance of sports facilities and the coordination of day-to-day sports activities for the program.
  3. Ensures that all uniforms and related apparel and equipment are maintained in a clean and serviceable condition.
  4. Oversees uniform and equipment distribution and retrieval at practices and on game day.
  5. Assists with game day equipment preparations and setup for games.
  6. Assists in the maintenance of equipment inventories; reconciles athletic and sports equipment stocks.
  7. Serves as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act.
  8. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
  • Knowledge of athletic, mechanical, and electronic equipment, supplies, and/or uniform repair.
  • Records maintenance skills.
  • Organizing and coordinating skills.

Conditions of Employment

  • CPR Certified.
  • Compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required in this position.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
