Summary

Performs set up and repairs on mechanical and computerized vending machines. Adding data for testing

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Performs comprehensive electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair of coin and dollar bill operated vending machines.
  2. Maintains current records of maintenance and repairs performed.
  3. Schedules preventive maintenance as required.
  4. Maintains inventory of spare parts and tools.
  5. Recommends relocation of machines and machine replacement.
  6. Submits electronic components for repair to appropriate vendor.
  7. Performs duties of a vending route driver as required.
  8. May lead, guide, and train staff/student employees, interns, and/or volunteers performing related work; may participate in the recruitment of volunteers, as appropriate to the area of operation.
  9. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
  • Ability to complete routine paperwork.
  • Records maintenance skills.
  • Ability to install, maintain and repair vending machines.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
  • Knowledge of traffic patterns for vending machine placement.

Conditions of Employment

  • Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job.
  • This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the CWA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
