Summary

Performs a wide range of multimedia functions, such as video production, editing and coordination of instructional/in-house broadcast. Assist users with film, video, audio media, audio-visual equipment, computer labs and efficient functioning of technology in the classrooms. Performs all aspects of media services to include developing interactive media and training materials for faculty and staff clients and trains clients how to utilize software applications, material and supplies. Plans and tracks production projects. Test and troubleshoots new multimedia technologies and computer hardware; performs testing and preventive maintenance on existing equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Plans, produces and edits interactive media materials for faculty and staff clients.
  2. Oversees audio and visual equipment usage; assist users with set-up and operation of equipment.
  3. Consults with clients on use and design of multimedia materials and operation of presentation equipment.
  4. Tests new multimedia technologies and evaluates educational applications; performs testing and preventive maintenance on existing equipment; initiates repair orders as necessary.
  5. Coordinates and develops special multimedia projects, events and/or presentations.
  6. Maintains inventory, ensures proper care and maintenance in the use and maintenance of equipment, materials, and supplies.
  7. Provides technical guidance and training to students, faculty and clients fo equipment, materials, and supplies.
  8. Plans and tracks production projects.
  9. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Skilled with professional AV technology including PA sound systems, computers & projectors.
  • Skilled with multimedia technologies including digital video recorders and photography equipment.
  • Knowledge of video and audio workflows including post-production procedures, techniques, and quality standards.
  • Skills in the utilization of specified computerized graphic design programs.
  • Ability to utilize advanced audio and/or video recording, mastering and editing techniques. .
  • Ability to develop training aids and instructional materials using a range of media.
  • Ability to develop programming specifications within defined parameters.
  • Knowledge of computer animation programs, processes and production equipment.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and training to end users.
  • Skill in designing and/or importing web pages.
  • Knowledge of professional audio and/or video tape editing and post-production procedures, techniques, and standards.
  • Ability to plan, implement, test, and troubleshoot system software.
  • Ability to supervise student employees engaged in similar activities.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • No or very limited physical effort required.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
