Summary

Under direct supervision within the classroom or studio environment, assumes and holds various poses or facial expressions for an extended period of time as directed by the instructor. Modeling is primarily nude for a specific length of time with periodic breaks, as directed by the class instructor. All body types and ages are encouraged (minimum age 18). Typically works on an intermittent, on-call basis.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assumes and holds various poses for specific lengths of time, as specifically directed by the class instructor.
  2. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Less than high school; no previous experience required.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Ability to assume and hold various artistic poses for specific lengths of time, in accordance with specific instructions.

Conditions of Employment

  • Must be at least 18 years of age at date of hire.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Work is normally performed nude in a typical artist studio/classroom environment.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Limited physical effort require; must be able to hold artistic poses for extended periods of time with minimal movement.

The University of New Mexico provides all training required by OSHA to ensure employee safety.
