Summary

Under direct supervision, performs a wide range of multimedia support functions, such as video production and editing and/or coordination of instructional/in-house broadcasts. Assists in development and/or prepares presentation materials. Performs a range of administrative support and clerical functions, as appropriate to the needs of the work unit.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develops and/or prepares presentation materials; writes, directs, and/or edits department videos, as assigned.
  2. Prepares presentation materials, using Powerpoint and/or other graphic applications as appropriate to the requirements of the position.
  3. Creates and maintains web pages using Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), as appropriate to the position, and/or performs other internet related tasks as assigned.
  4. May supervise secondary level students in experimental laboratory setting.
  5. Manipulates electronic files using various software translation programs.
  6. May provide administrative support; meets and greets visitors, answers and places telephone calls, schedules appointments, makes travel arrangements, arranges and coordinates meetings, and compiles and correlates various studies and reports.
  7. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; at least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Ability to set up and operate professional audio and/or video recording equipment.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
  • Ability to maintain calendars and schedule appointments.
  • Skill in graphic design.
  • Ability to create and produce graphic materials using a range of media, methods, techniques, and equipment.
  • Ability to lead and train staff and/or students.
  • Skill in designing and/or importing web pages.
  • Video production and editing skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events.
  • Ability to provide formal and informal instruction to non-technical personnel in the use of computer hardware and/or software.
  • Skill in accessing internet information services.
  • Receptionist skills.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • No or very limited physical effort required.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
