The following statements are intended to describe, in broad terms, the general functions and responsibility levels characteristic of positions assigned to this classification. Operates reprographics and bindery equipment to complete complex assignments requiring the merge of covers, text, indices, and related items into single or multi-color. Performs all phases of equipment set-up, operation, and routine maintenance. Maintains supplies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Utilizes reprographic equipment, generally requiring advanced custom programming, to duplicate a variety of materials.
Collates, folds, staples, binds, cuts, drills, pads, and shreds printed materials according to job specifications.
Responds to telephone inquiries concerning the status of customer's work order and general duplication questions; notifies customers when orders are completed; resolves questions or issues related to production.
Performs basic maintenance of all production equipment including preventive maintenance and general cleaning; contacts service representative for machine problems requiring major repairs.
Performs miscellaneous clerical duties.
Performs data entry function to reproduce job tickets for tracking and billing purposes.
Maintains inventory of paper and other supplies.
Keeps work areas orderly, clean, and safe; ensures proper care in the use of equipment and supplies.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED; at least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
Ability to program and operate reprographic equipment.
Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
Ability to perform basic maintenance on reprographic equipment.
Word processing and/or data entry skills.
Conditions of Employment
This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the CWA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
