Summary

Performs daily administrative activities for the Office of Student Financial Aid, including development and production of reports, ensuring compliance with university and funding agency requirements; and advisement of student financial aid applicants/recipients.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Supervises personnel which typically includes recommendations for hiring, firing, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution.
  2. Applies established procedures where the nature of the system, feasibility, computer equipment, and programming language have already been determined.
  3. Uses established fact-finding procedures, and knowledge of pertinent work processes and procedures to provide required analysis of business problems.
  4. Develops recordkeeping procedures and fund-level management procedures in accordance with applicable regulations, policies and standards.
  5. Responds to inquiries and investigates and resolves problems related to transactions handled by the department; serves as a liaison with other departments or units in the resolution of day-to-day administrative and operational issues.
  6. Conducts workshops and training seminars to inform students and university clients about student financial aid; advises students/families regarding application process and eligibility for student financial aid.
  7. Develops operating goals and objectives for the unit; implements and administers methods and procedures to enhance operations, as appropriate to the unit.
  8. Assists in establishing and implementing short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  9. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Conditions of Employment

  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • No or very limited physical effort required.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
