Summary

Under direct supervision, performs duties of intermediate complexity requiring some prior knowledge of systems or procedures within a designated functional area. Works as part of a specified student employment program for an assigned department of the University. Duties are of a nature and level of responsibility that would be consistent with a UNM staff position that has been evaluated at Grade 3.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  2. Receives guidance, training, and mentoring from professional personnel in planning and carrying out activities and assignments.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED. Must have obtained high school diploma no greater than 24 months prior to date of hire; no previous experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

The University of New Mexico provides all training required by OSHA to ensure employee safety.
