Summary

With the Division of Human Resources, actively engages in large-scale organizational change efforts, focusing on organizational diagnoses, problem-solving, and enhancing employee engagement through strategic instructional development projects and group consultations; Assists with drafting human resources development strategies aimed at elevating both individual and organizational performance, with a strong emphasis on fostering a vibrant, engaged workplace culture. Conducts comprehensive needs assessments and designs, develops, and delivers training and development programs for employees on a University-wide basis, incorporating elements specifically designed to boost engagement and job satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Participates in organizational development consultations including the design, development, coordination, and facilitation of organizational effectiveness activities, such as strategic planning, team building, process consultation, employee coaching, and employee engagement initiatives.
  2. Participates in the design, development, and implementation of large system organizational development and organizational-wide change initiatives, with a focus on enhancing employee engagement alongside large-scale human resources initiatives and projects.
  3. Plans, designs, develops, and delivers individual and/or group training and instructional programs, using instructor-led, electronic/web-based, and/or multimedia training methods and formats, with an emphasis on programs that increase employee engagement and connection to the University's mission and goals.
  4. Conducts needs assessments to identify and evaluate individual and/or group training requirements for employees University-wide, with a focus on identifying opportunities to enhance employee engagement through tailored training and development efforts.
  5. Selects or develops training materials and aids, to include training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer and web-based tutorials, and reference works.
  6. Evaluates the effectiveness of training and development programs, utilizing appropriate data collection instruments and procedures with a keen eye on measuring improvements in employee engagement and satisfaction.
  7. Reviews instructor performance, as appropriate, and recommends modifications and improvements to program content and/or presentation methods; may recruit, select, and train instructors.
  8. Carries out small to medium scale projects and performs administrative functions necessary to deliver and document training programs, ensuring all initiatives contribute positively to the overarching goal of enhancing employee engagement.
  9. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Knowledge of web-based training programs and familiarity with web tools.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups.
  • Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and coordinate multiple projects.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the financial, accounting, marketing and operational functions of an organization (business acumen).
  • Knowledge of human resources administration principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and methodologies.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation and team management skills.

Conditions of Employment

  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • Moderate physical activity; requires handling of average-weight objects and standing or walking for extended periods of time.
