Summary
Directs, plans, manages, and coordinates the administrative functions of the College of Arts & Sciences. Provides administrative leadership and oversight across multiple academic and operational components of the College including, but not limited to, information technology, marketing, facilities, and human resources. Participates with the Dean and internal management in strategic and operational planning and decision making as a member of the central leadership team. Facilitates and supports successful change management within the College, with particular emphasis on identifying and implementing administrative process improvements. This is a single-incumbent position within the College of Arts and Sciences.
Duties and Responsibilities
Directs and coordinates all assigned academic and administrative functions for the College. Provides administrative leadership and direction to instructional and service programs of the College. Ensures accurate and consistent application of University policy in coordination with associated department(s).
Oversees College's organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish effective administrative operations; directly supervises staff and determines staffing levels. Develops procedures and assigns work tasks to improve efficiency.
Evaluates, designs, and implements administrative processes across the College. Oversees and monitors performance of administrative functions to ensure compliance with University policy and the College's operating standards; directs and facilitates cross-departmental implementation of administrative process improvements.
Provides strategic guidance and consultation to the dean on a wide range of administrative and operational issues, including matters of policy, communication strategy, accreditation, interdivisional interaction, compliance and capital development, improvement, and management.
Oversees and monitors day-to-day administrative and operational needs for the College; participates in decision-making in the absence of or on behalf of the dean or associate deans, as necessary.
Serves as the College's administrative lead for strategic and operational planning and decision-making regarding assigned academic and administrative functions.
Leads College-level committees and initiatives. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders on the development and execution of College initiatives; establishes and maintains effective relationships with campus partners.
Supervises and coordinates the use of recordkeeping systems across the College. Develops systems to monitor academic and administrative deadlines; regularly evaluates College administrative systems and services.
Researches, reports, analyzes, compiles, and/or completes information for surveys and accreditation such as fiscal data, operational expenses, salaries, student profiles/assessments, enrollments, student costs, and/or curriculum.
Serves on various departmental, divisional, and University policy-making committees; participates directly in the formulation of policy, ensuring that administrative and human resources practices are in compliance with University regulations, policies, and appropriate laws.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort
